Akhaya Lentaba means Mountain Home. This ideal retreat suits a honeymoon couple or those who seek solace and quietude in a beautiful village far from the madding crowd. The perfect end to a hectic year? Away from it all, but Simon’s Town is just over the hill with restaurants and bars aplenty. A ten minute drive to the nearest shop along a winding road where you may meet a porcupine crossing, or a family of guinea fowl scurrying along: elders keeping young
chicks in check!
From its commanding position hugging the hillside, sweeping curved windows and glass sliding doors celebrate the spectacular scenery. The house enjoys panoramic, uninterrupted views of the pristine sandy bay and the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean yet it’s just a short walk to the water’s edge.
The house backs onto the beautiful Baskloof Nature Reserve, with a garden gate providing access to hiking paths through the reserve. At night huge, star spangled skies greet you as there are no street lights in Scarborough.
An extensive open plan dining and living area leads onto a broad sea-facing balcony from which one can enjoy the stunning sunsets whilst sipping a chilled drink. All in all a perfect setting for a relaxing indoor/outdoor lifestyle. The spacious upstairs kitchen has modern appliances, and gives full views
up onto the mountainside.
This impressive house can be rented as a whole. It has two levels, however, with separate entrances, each level therefore offering a complete fully equipped private unit each with two bedrooms and a bathroom so the option exists of renting one or both. There are choices of kingsize, queen and double beds (or twin as an option). Luxurious percale bedlinen and down duvets add to your comfort.
An open log fireplace on the first floor is cosy on those chilly evenings where a good Merlot will
not go amiss.
Scarborough boasts it’s own vineyard, just around the corner as you head out for a scenic drive to the Cape Point. Watch out for whales!
