Avalon on Sea is within easy walking distance from the center of Hermanus with its fine restaurants, craft markets, shops and the world's only whale crier. Enjoy the "Park and Walk" life-style by leaving your car in the secure car park and walking the short distance to most of the attractions in Hermanus. Hearty, healthy breakfasts are served daily, while dinners and picnic hampers are offered on request. We gladly arrange wine tours, beer tours, bicycle hire, shark diving expeditions and paragliding or perhaps suggest a more leisurely excursion such as a stroll through the fynbos along the Cliff Path down to the village. |

| Avalon on Sea offers four luxury double rooms and one twin bedded standard room. We are also able to accommodate a family with an adjacent children's room.
All rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, hair driers, room safes and TV with Mnet and DSTV. The three sea-facing rooms offer breathtaking 180° views over Walker Bay all the way to De Kelders and Gansbaai. The Pool area is furnished with loungers and chairs for the use of our guests. Although Avalon on Sea is a non-smoking establishment, ashtrays are provided in the pool-area. |
| Whale Watching Avalon on Sea is located directly opposite the world famous Cliff Path. It is along this route that the Southern Right Whales can be seen, when they visit annually to breed and nurse in the warm waters below. If you want to get closer to the Whales, we gladly book you for an outing on one of the licensed Whale Watching Boats. Fishing There are a number of operators offering various fishing excursions, leaving from the new harbour. Walking and Hiking Either walk on the Cliff Path to the new harbour, into the town center, or all the way to Voelklip Beach (7km), OR - visit the Fernkloof Nature Reserve offering a number of hikes, combining breathtaking views with indigenousfynbos. Guided walks may be pre-booked for durations between 1.5 and 5 hours. Golfing There are three golf courses within the greater Hermanus area, the Hermanus Golf Club, the Arabella Country Estate and the Kleinmond Golf Club. Please tell us your preference and we will try and book you at your preferred time. Wine Tasting Why not take a drive up the Hemel-and-Aarde Valley, there are a number of Wine Farms for tasting or for a leisurely lunch in wonderful settings. Eating Out There are many good restaurants in and around Hermanus. We would be happy to advise you where to go and to book your tables depending on your preference and availability of seats. Other Activities May it be Sea Kayaking, Horse Riding, a visit to the Brewery, Paragliding or a 4X4 adventure into the mountains - Please let us know what you want to do and we arrange it for you. Whatever you do during your stay in Hermanus, we will try our best to make it as pleasant and memorable as possible! |
