This substantial and impressive 5 bedroom house is set in several acres of garden and vineyards, with stunning views over the Franschhoek Valley.
Bagatelle Manor is elegantly decorated in a Cape Country style, with period furniture and stylish soft furnishings. Bagatelle Manor has 5 beautiful bedrooms, each with stunning views and 4 bathrooms. An enormous beamed kitchen/dining/family room with patio doors opens onto a large covered verandah with breathtaking views over the Franschhoek Valley. In addition a large formal dining room with 10-seater dining table leads onto a spacious further living room with open fire. The gardens include a sweeping lawn and well-tended flower filled cottage gardens lead onto the property's own vineyard. A large family sized swimming pool with wood decking surround and sun-bathing platform is located next to the verandah and shares the stunning views over the valley. The house is fully-equipped and includes a washing-machine, microwave and satellite TV. The house is alarmed and has off-street parking and a garage. All linen and towels, including pool towels, are provided. Bagatelle Manor sleeps up to 8 adults and 4 children (or combination thereof) and the rate is R7,500 per night, rising to R9,000 per night over Christmas and New Year. The property is fully serviced every day by a permanent staff of two people. Bagatelle Manor is located in an elevated part of the village but within about a 12 minute walk of the main High Street where you can eat and browse among the many Franschhoek restaurants, boutique shops and art galleries. Bagatelle Manor is close to the highly regarded Haute Cabriere restaurant and wine estate and the la Petite Ferme restaurant. The local wine estates produce some of South Africa's finest wines and Franschhoek has several of the best restaurants in South Africa. Franschhoek is within easy reach of Cape Town (Airport 45 minutes) and lovely beaches along the coast. Outdoor activities include walking, horse-riding, mountain-biking, and fly-fishing for trout in the local dams.
