 “Bietou op die See” is a true oceanfront home, with nothing but a footpath between you and the waves. Fully furnished and fully equipped, “Bietou” comes complete with magnificent, unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean. This large house has three bedrooms and two full baths. The main bedroom has a queen bed, en-suite bath, a walk-in dressing area, unobstructed ocean views and walk out access to the front (ocean-facing) patio. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and the third bedroom a queen bed and single bunk beds. In total, the house sleeps 8. All bedrooms have built-in cupboards and dressing tables. Quality linens and towels are provided. The main living area of the house is a large open room that includes a kitchen, dining area (with seating for ten), and sitting area. The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher. There is a separate TV room with satellite TV, VCR stereo and ocean views. African antiques throughout the house. Outdoors, there are large patios front and back, an outdoor shower (with hot and cold water), and a charcoal braai (BBQ) that can be used on either patio. You have full, unobstructed ocean views from the front patio. Enclosed, secure parking for one car. Full laundry facilities, including washer and dryer. There is a phone line, so Internet access is possible with your computer and ISP. |

 Hermanus is a seaside resort town built along the shores of Walker Bay. Known for its champagne air, long stretches of sand beach intermixed with rocky coastline, and rich flora and fauna, Hermanus is located a mere 75 minutes from Cape Town airport. Hermanus is famous for offering the world's best whale watching. From August to November, the Southern Right whales congregate in the waters in and around Walker Bay. A 12-km cliff walk through the town provides wonderful opportunities to observe the gentle giants in the coves below. We are located one bay to the west of Walker Bay, with frequent whale sitings in the bay. You can watch the whales right from the front patio. The highlight of the Whale Season is the annual Whale Festival, September 23-26, 2005.       “Bietou” is located in the quiet residential area of Hermanus know as “Vermont”. You will be grateful for this on weekends and holidays, as the town itself can be very busy. There is a small shopping center 3 minutes away, with grocery store, chemist shop (pharmacy), liquor/wines, video rental, and restaurant/pub. Town centre is a short 6-8-minute drive.
