Paternoster, meaning "Our Father" ostensibly, took its name from the heartfelt prayers of shipwrecked Portuguese sailors. Although life in Paternoster is still closely associated with the sea and fishing industry, it is to this historic and peaceful little fishing village that the traveller comes to relax. The Columbine Nature Reserve with the well known "Tietiesbaai" offers beautiful wildflowers during August and September. Whales and Dolphins also visit these water ten months of the year. Boulders and Beach are magnificent self catering units that can be combined into one larger unit to serve a group of 10. This is a place to come to for a quiet relaxing time,and since you may be in close proximity to other guests we have guide lines regarding noise levels and smoking indoors, this ensures everyone has a pleasant stay. The Beach unit is the lower unit and is on the same level as the sea. It comprises two bedrooms, one full bathroom and an open plan lounge kitchen area. Patio with BBQ. Sleeps four.

Boulders is the higher unit and is level with the tops of the granite boulders on the beach. It comprises two bathrooms, one full and one shower only, two bedrooms, one with twin beds and bunk beds, the other double beds. The living area is large and as well as a well fitted kitchen also has a large hearth. There is an outdoor BBQ area located on a large balcony overlooking the Paternoster bay. Sleeps six.
