Calitzdorp Country House - Known for pampered luxury and gourmet meals
Under 4 hours from Cape Town on Route 62, “the longest wine route in the world”, is Calitzdorp the Port Wine Capital of South Africa. And nestled amongst the vineyards overlooking Calitzdorp is the magnificent four star Calitzdorp Country House. It is beautifully furnished with original art and antiques and offers spectacular views across a valley of orchards to the majestic Swartberg Mountains. Our luxurious accommodation includes five air-conditioned bedrooms with king-sized beds, TV with satellite channels, en-suite bathrooms and a private patio. The Italian-tiled bathrooms include large showers, twin washbasins and outsize baths. Crisp linens, soft fluffy towels, quality hairdryers and dressing gowns all add to your feeling of pampered care. After a spectacular Klein Karoo sunset, delight in a gourmet meal in our restaurant and end the evening by enjoying some of Calitzdorp’s best Port Wines.
Calitzdorp is ideal as a base for your Klein Karoo adventures; take the magnificent Swartberg pass to the hamlet of Prince Albert for lunch and return via the fabulous Meiringspoort pass, where for ten glorious kilometres a river meanders alongside the road surrounded by towering cliffs with distorted and misshapen rock faces. Visit ostrich show farms and the famous Cango Caves; or photograph the spectacular Redstone Hills.
Mountain bikes are available in the village for hire by energetic guests, while a number of 4x4 routes and walking trails of varying distances and degrees of difficulty are to be found.

At Calitzdorp Country House we offer free WiFi and parking, have a lovely garden with a dam and an outdoor pool. Enquire about the array of activities that can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings; including cycling, horse riding and hiking.
Andrew and Nell Rogers look forward to making your stay as relaxed, as comfortable and not least, as memorable as possible.
