 Whale watching during the months of June to November. For those who want to get a close up view of the whales you can take a short drive to Hermanus (40km) where the cliff paths provide the perfect vantage point to view the Southern Right Whales in their masses. Enjoy the magnificent walking trails in the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens and the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve or take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk from the old whaling station to view the Jackass Penguin Colony. Golfers can enjoy a round at the local Kleinmond course (8km), or at the 5 star course within the Arabella estate (20km). For the more adventurous there is paragliding and sand boarding off the Betty’s Bay sand dunes, river rafting down the Palmiet River and shark cage diving in Gansbaai (65km). Slightly further afield you will find the historical town of Stellenbosch with it's extensive wine route, and the magnificent beauty of the Hemel en Aarde Valley (35km). Whether it is relaxation or exhilaration you are after, Betty’s Bay is the perfect spot from which to enjoy the beauty and diversity of the Cape. |
