| The magnificent Cape-style Homestead with wonderful views over the beach and lagoon was once known as Albertyn House. Built in 1861 makes it Kleinmond’s oldest building and it has pride of place on the Kleinmond beachfront. The Homestead was sensitively renovated in 2009 and together with its sweeping views across Sandown Bay, towards Hermanus and the dramatic Hemel-en-Aarde Mountains, it is the perfect place to relax on a beach holiday. Sit on the sunny verandah and read your book while watching the waves roll in and the whales frolicking in the bay. |
| Situated right on Sandown Beach, about 100 km from Cape Town and 20 minutes from Hermanus, The Homestead is ideally located for an easy weekend getaway. It’s just a 5 minute drive to the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve where one can hike, mountain bike or river raft in the pristine fynbos of the Palmiet Valley. The Arabella Country Estate, where you will find the legendary Spa & Wellness Centre and world-class golf course, is also only 5 minutes away. The Homestead’s location spaciousness, comfort and affordability make it the ideal springboard for all the attractions of this beautiful coastline. The situation is also perfect for children of all ages, as it is right next to the beachside park, with its rolling lawns, swings and boats for hire on the lagoon. |
| The Homestead is made up of 2 adjacent houses that are rented out together: the Homestead and the Cottage. They are situated in Kleinmond overlooking the sea and lagoon. Together they sleep 10 people, in 5 double rooms.
The Homestead is a charming double storey house. Downstairs it has a fully equipped open plan kitchen-lounge leading with fireplace and 1 bedroom. It has 3 bedrooms in total, all en-suite. The kitchen lounge opens onto a large veranda, garden and braai area, with a spectacular view of the beach. Upstairs is a sitting room, 2 en-suite bedrooms, plus a large sundeck with amazing views over the bay. It is fully equipped with DSTV, microwave, dishwasher, stove and oven, fridge and freezer. The Cottage has 2 bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom. A fully equipped kitchen forms part of an open plan sitting room with fireplace.
