Karibu means ‘welcome’ in Swahili (or literally, ‘come closer’), a fitting name for this charming self-catering cottage close to Seaforth Beach in Simon’s Town. The owners were attracted to this cottage because of its historic character, its light, open and airy feel, its proximity to beaches and restaurants, and the sea view. |
|

Located in a row of historic cottages, with the mountain as a backdrop, Karibu Cottage has two bedrooms, a bathroom and an open plan kitchen/dining and sitting room, leading out onto a sun deck with sea views.
From the deck you can watch ships and boats as they sail into the harbour, and, at the right time of year, spot whales as they move up the coast.
Off the kitchen is a pretty courtyard, also with sea views. Being sheltered from the wind, it makes a perfect barbeque spot. |

Seaforth Beach is just a five-minute walk away. From there it’s a short walk to the famous Boulders Beach, close to a colony of African penguins. This sheltered beach is ideal for small children, and because they are able to swim with the penguins, adults love it too.
Simon’s Town is a historic naval town located in False Bay on the way to Cape Point. This is the warm-water side of the peninsula, popular with swimmers and sailors. It is easy to get around, either by foot or car and, with beaches, boats, a golf course and good walking areas, makes a perfect seaside base for visitors to the Cape. |
