Betty's Bay is situated on the southern coast of Africa, in South Africa; the province of the Western Cape, the region is The Overberg and the area Hangklip/Kleinmond halfway between Cape Town & Hermanus.
Bettys Bay is a quiet seasonal holiday village, ideally suited to those who prefer outdoor living. Walking, hiking, swimming, surfing, cycling & sand boarding are the sort of activities that can be enjoyed here.
There are lovely long silver sandy beaches, as well as a selection of small private beaches with rocks and rock pools surrounding them. These are safe and especially suited to children. Even in the busy season, the beaches are not heavily populated.
Close to Bettys Bay are the attractions of the Stony Point land-based Penguin Colony, Harold Porter National Botanical Garden & the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve.
At Stoney Point, the boardwalk makes penguin viewing a special treat. Of course, there are many other bird species to be viewed in the area.
The walks, hikes, picnic spots and cycle routes in the Harold Porter Gardens and Kogelberg Reserve are spectacular.
These wilderness areas form the central core of the Cape Floral Kingdom and are home to a huge range of flora & fauna species. The Palmiet River is also a favorite for swimming or canoeing.
