"Osborne" is situated in the best location in town. You are directly on the beach, with nothing between you and sand except your own front yard. “Osborne” is a 1960's creation by Revel Fox, arguably South Africa's most renowned architect, and was built for our family. It is considered a South African architectural landmark. In 2009, we completed a major expansion & renovation. We kept the original form while adding a second story over the front half of the house. You have full, unobstructed views of the sea and Table Mountain from most rooms in the house. Inside, the house has been totally renovated, with an all new kitchen, all new bathrooms, all new floors, all new everything. Master suites on both the first and second floors and two additional bedrooms (2 x twin beds each) downstairs, sleeping 8 in total. Large and fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. Formal sitting and dining area on the lower level and large family room/TV room on the upper level. 3 full baths and a powder room. Overall, this is a large house, with 275 square meters +/- in floor area. The house is furnished and outfitted to a high standard, with such amenities as walnut counter tops, European bath fixtures, Travertine marble floors, etc. WIFI (bring your own laptop or rent here) and flat panel TV. Under floor heating for those chilly winter nights. Outside, we have a built-in wood-burning Braai (BBQ), a 6-foot California redwood hot tub with room for 6 (fees apply) and patios back and front. Use the back patio for privacy and the front patio to enjoy magnificent sunsets over the water. Re landscaping is in process. Beyond the house, you have miles of white sand beach at your doorstep. Try kite surfing, if you are young and brave enough. Equipment and lessons available just down the street. You are walking distance to great restaurants like Ons Huisie, On the Rocks and Café Blouberg. Upscale shopping is minutes away. You are 5 minutes to great golf, 15-20 minutes to city center, and under 30 minutes to Clifton and Camps Bay, to the sports venues (cricket, rugby and soccer), and the wine routes. Life is good here.
