A perfect weekend getaway from the hectic city pace. I arrived with bells, whistles and hooters going off in my head and left at ease, peaceful and calm. For the tourist and traveller a fantastic look at the African landscape with large open spaces, majestic mountain backdrops, the bushveld and the sun with peace and calm you never realised existed.
Sandveld Country Cottages, Piketberg, Western Cape, South Africa. Four idyllic cottages situated on the base slopes of the Piketberg range have serene views across a large sweeping valley with magnificent mountains as your backdrop.
All 4 cottages have access to a manicured green
lawn and a crystal blue swimming pool. This area
is surrounded by indigenous West Coast Fynbos
(natural vegetation) as far as the eye can see.
Designed and maintained lapa and braai area (barbeque). A large fire pit in a stoned floor area with logs cast into the ground makes for an unforgettable African setting, and an unforgettable experience.
In all a secure, peaceful, serene landscape getaway. A writer’s paradise. So unforgettable you will be back in the future.

There are four cottages, all of which are available to guests. Each cottage comfortable sleeps six people.
The cottages have a large lounge with log-fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. Full bedding, crockery, cutlery and braai facilities are provided. You should bring your own towels, wine glasses, firelighters and insect spray.
The cottages are self-catering. There is a farm shop which may have all the basic necessities. We sell firewood.
There is a lovely large grassy area where children can play. With a swimming pool and a braai lapa. The swimming pool is not fenced and is a hazard for babies and toddlers.
We also cater for anniversaries, company motivational events etc. We offer discounts where all the cottages are booked and for stays during the week (during school terms and weeks which have public holidays). A deposit must be paid by a specific date to confirm your booking.
Guest causing inconsiderate noise or nuisance will
receive a warning. If the nuisance continues
management reserves the right to ask them to leave.
Damage to equipment must be reported to management.
Where pets are permitted by prior arrangement with
management owners are responsible for ensuring that do not cause nuisance such as barking, urinating, chasing farm animals etc. Owners are required to remove dogs’ droppings immediately.
