Squirrel & Vine is a private, fully-equipped, air-conditioned self-catering apartment with an excellent location in Stellenbosch’s historic core. Guests can walk to shops, coffee shops, restaurants and numerous historic sites. The apartment is situated in oak-lined Herte Street, and is one of the apartments in a block of 12 privately owned units in this one-way street. Squirrel & Vine is 250 meters’ walk from the Stellenbosch Tourism and Information Bureau, and 150 meters from ‘Oom Samie se Winkel’ (around the corner in Dorp Street).
A maximum of three guests can be accommodated. The living room is air-conditioned and has a sleeper couch (single bed size), television with full bouquet of satellite channels, Wi-Fi and DVD player. The air-conditioned bedroom features an extra-length king size bed, radio/alarm, hairdryer and digital electronic safe. Baby cot available on request. The granite kitchen is fully equipped with oven, stove, microwave oven, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, coffee perculator, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. A washing machine is also provided. A private covered balcony overlooking Herte Street has a table and chairs for outdoor dining. The bathroom has a bath, shower and twin basins. Secure off-street covered parking is available inside the security complex. Note that open fires pose a hazard in this historic part of town – a barbecue and fire place are therefore not available. We provide a very basic model mobile phone registered to a South African network for guests to use.

Numerous golf courses and wine estates are situated in the Stellenbosch area.
Squirrel & Vine is suitable for guests who travel by car and who wish to stay in the heart of Stellenbosch in a fully equipped, private facility. Comments from past guests most frequently refer to the fact that the apartment is equipped with everything one needs, is in a prime location and is kept very clean. REGARDING QUESTION 6 ABOVE - PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WAS NO OPTION FOR SELF-CATERING UNITS THAT CHARGE PER UNIT. I HAVE AN APARTMENT AND DO NOT HAVE PER PERSON RATES AS B&Bs OFTEN HAVE. HOWEVER, I HAD TO ENTER SOMETHING THERE BECAUSE THE SYSTEM WOULD NOT LET ME PROCEED. I TOOK MY LOWEST RATE AND DIVIDED IT BY THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GUESTS
