| Overlooking the ocean on the coast at Yzerfontein, the house is ranged over three floors and is characterised by spacious rooms and uninterrupted sea views. A sloping site protects the house at the back and, at the front, sheltered decks provide all five sea-facing bedrooms with peaceful relaxation areas furnished with loungers and umbrellas. Facing north-west, the villa is extremely protected from prevailing winds.
The house is furnished simply and in a contemporary ‘beachy’ style. There’s white cotton bed linen on all the beds and in the bathrooms, fine white towels. All the bathrooms are finished in travertine marble with white sanitary ware. |
| The entertainment areas are on the first floor. The lounge has a large wood burning fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD player and DSTV. The bar area, which has a wood burning pizza oven and an indoor braai, opens onto the first floor deck with its rim flow pool and outside braai area. There is a 12-seater dining table in the open plan kitchen dining area in addition to the kitchen counter seating. The kitchen has plenty of appliances and a lot of space for cooking, a large gas hob and electric oven, a double fridge freezer and a microwave. The dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer are all in the separate scullery area. There is also plenty of outside seating on the first floor deck; a covered 12- seater table and a round table that seats 6. |
| The house has five bedrooms (four with king beds and one with two single beds), four bathrooms, two lavatories and an outside shower. Three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the fourth and fifth bedrooms on the 2nd floor share a bathroom with a shower and a bath. The master bedroom is on the first floor, it has a king bed, walk through dressing room and bathroom with large bath and shower. There is a sixth bedroom outside with its own separate entrance and shower room, which can be used as staff accommodation. |
| The house has a large, double, remote control-operated lock-up garage fronted by a spacious driveway. An adjacent parking area can accommodate a boat. The garage provides plenty of space for storing surfboards, water skis, bikes and other sporting equipment. |
| Depending on the number of guests, there are two rates applicable.
For groups of 10 or more, the rate for the whole house is R4 500 per night in the summer months and R3 600 per night in winter. For smaller groups, the rates for the bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor only are R3 700 in summer and R2 960 in winter. The minimum stay is two nights but over Christmas and New year, the minimum stay is two weeks. |
