Vrede Manor, as its name suggests, is a peaceful and perfect retreat, located in Cape Town. The manor was built around the turn of the century in 1904. It is designed in the traditional Cape Dutch style synonymous with South Africa and in particular the
Western Cape.
The house was once owned by the Mayor of Milnerton and the famous conductor and composer Albert Coates. Being a dignitary’s home, it offers superb grace and style.
A stay at Vrede Manor will enable you to experience life in the style of a lord of a manor with its opulent luxury coupled with Colin and Mark’s finesse as fitting hosts. Here you will be sure of the peace, tranquillity and comfort of a true South African home.
This Edwardian boutique guest house, Vrede Manor, is set in picturesque gardens, just 5km from Cape Town City Bowl and has been lovingly restored by its current owners, Colin and Mark, and boasts two superior en-suite rooms in the main house and one luxury duplex studio apartment.
The exquisite decor, together with Colin and Mark’s genial hospitality, not to mention the delightful company of the dogs, Todd and Borris and cat, Miss Babbs, is the perfect place for the discerning traveller to relax and unwind in elegant and
peaceful surroundings. |
 
Both the bedrooms located in the main house offer the luxury, refinement and a haven from the hustle and bustle of the mother city. There is also the contemporary self catering apartment that is available as well.
Each has refreshment trays with tea, coffee, soft drinks, wine and beer, with homemade biscuits and bowls of fresh fruit. All rooms also have a safe, hairdryer, flat screen TV, DVD player and
IPod docking stations.
All our rooms are stocked with Molton Brown toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. The bathrooms also have electric shaver points and heated towel rails. Towels for the pool and beach are also provided. For your convenience we also offer a 24 hour laundry service, as well as a fax sending service. For those guests bringing their own laptops, we also have Wi-Fi access.
Breakfast will be served in the magnificent dining room, and afterwards you may wish to relax in the garden viewing area overlooking the front garden with hosts of Agapanthus, Birds of Paradise as well as 100 year old palm trees. |

Vrede Manor is ideally situated to visit the Cape Town City Bowl, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Table Mountain National Park and Kirstenbosch Gardens to name but a few attractions. Vrede Manor is also close enough to access Simons Town and the peninsular, as well as the majestic Cape Point, the wine farms of Constantia, Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Durbanville Hills and Paarl.
Milnerton Golf Course – the only true links course in South Africa, Century City shopping mall (Canal Walk) and of course Milnerton beach and lighthouse are all worth a visit.
Milnerton itself has numerous coffee shops and bistros just a short walk away from Vrede Manor.
Anyone interested in football will of course be aware that the FIFA World Cup 2010 is taking place in South Africa. Vrede Manor is ideally situated for easy access to the stadium. |
  
There is a Stoep with pool table and darts board for guests’ use and comfortable chairs should you wish to unwind with a good book.
For sun lovers there is a pool with sun loungers and rocking chairs set in the patio area of the garden containing lemon and peach trees, as well as heavenly scented jasmine and the delightfully named yesterday, today and
tomorrow plant.
Exclusive use: The house may be rented for exclusive use (not including the studio apartment) for a minimum of one week. The main house has a large professionally equipped kitchen, breakfast morning room, library, dining room with garden viewing room and separate drawing room. |

FROM CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Take the N2 towards City/Stad (11,5 km)
Take 'Exit 9 - M5 Milnerton/N1 City', turn off left,'
Continue till Exit 4 'R27 PAARDEN EILAND/MILNERTON' (6,8 km).
Take this turn off and continue to 5th set of traffic lights (5,4 km),
Here you turn RIGHT into Loxton Road;
Almost immediately 1ST LEFT into Ascot Road;
Vrede Manor is located on the corner of Ascot and Marais - the blue house!
FROM CAPE TOWN
Take N1 out of town
Keep left, onto the N1
Take Exit 4 onto R27, towards Milnerton, around 5,4 km or until the fifth set of traffic lights
Here you turn RIGHT into Loxton Road;
Almost immediately 1ST LEFT into Ascot Road;
