Description of Scarborough & Surroundings
A seaside conservation village between the Atlantic Ocean, the picturesque Cape Point, and the fynbos-covered Table Mountain National
Park. An eclectic mix of young professionals, surfers, artists, vacationers, environmentalists, retirees, and others looking for a quieter
way of life live in harmony with nature. No street lights and many roads are unpaved. Kids and pets wander freely from their homes to
the beach and hike in the hills. Surfers line up every morning and afternoon, while families stroll along the sand and tide pools.
Scarborough is a small village on the coast below Cape Town. It is about 40km from the center of town and 50km from the airport.
Scarborough is an eco-village with an eclectic vibrant community. It is situated on the border of South Africa's most visited tourist
destination - Cape Point Nature Reserve. A place where the two oceans meet: the warm Indian Ocean and cold Atlantic Ocean.
Three sides are bounded by nature reserve and the fourth by the ocean. The nature reserves are stocked with many different antelope,
ostrich and many small animals and boast one of the world’s most diverse floral kingdoms. Just 10 minutes over the mountain by road
from Scarborough is False Bay; with warm water, Boulders Beach and the historic village of Simonstown. It is a truly wonderful place to
live and visit with a friendly community.

Note that the house is built on a steep slope and access is via a long set of uneven stairs. For this reason, the house may
be inappropriate for those with mobility restrictions. We welcome well-behaved children, but parents need to please be
careful with little ones on the front deck. The house will be cleaned before and after your visit and our caretakers are
available for cleaning and/or laundry during your stay on arrangement.
Please note: Due to renovations, we would like to point out that the interiors and color scheme will change.
