This ideally located establishment is highly recommended to any visitor who wishes to experience Cape Town's warm hospitality at its best. Charles and Gillian are truly part of the charm that their guest house exudes and they have created a real home away from home for all their guests; both the young and not so young can only but feel extremely welcome and comfortable. I was shown to my immaculate en-suite room (which displayed fresh flowers) on arrival and although a self catering guest house, I was offered refreshment and enjoyed a great cup of coffee with the host and a few of the other guests gathered in the lounge.
Even though minutes from the city centre, the location is very peaceful and a large number of Guinea Fowl were to be viewed sitting in a tree across the road from my room which had the double doors opening out onto the back lawn.
From here the views of Cape Town city and surroundings, the ocean up to and around Bloubergstrand plus Table Mountain are actually the best that I have ever experienced, not forgetting the awesome sunsets on the horizon that we are so privileged to view and standing on the balcony, one has the impression of being able reach out and touch Table Mountain, it's that close!
The well maintained grounds, landscaped and tended by Gillian herself (who has a passion for horticulture), are surrounded by a myriad of trees and a large variety of plants with many more ready to be installed in newly created beds and summer should produce an abundance of new colour for their guests to enjoy!
