Self Catering Accommodation - Whalehaven Kalk Bay offers Holiday Apartment accomodation on the False Bay Coast, Western Cape

www.whalehavenkalkbay.co.za

A drop-dead-gorgeous two-bedroom apartment, just renovated, with all
the comforts of home and the luxuries you deserve, in a tiny village
tucked in between sea and mountain. Kalk Bay, Cape Town is slightly out of
the way, enchantingly laid-back and within easy reach of all the delights the
 Cape has to offer.

From Whalehaven’s broad front windows, your uninterrupted view takes in the street cafés, the station, the harbour and its busy boats, the beautiful big bay and the mountains in the distance. In the village below, there are quirky little shops selling antiques and ice creams, artisanal bread and original art. Choose fresh fish at the harbour market when the boats come in, or savour the daily catch in superb local restaurants, well known to the country’s wine and food cognoscenti. Kalk Bay's quaint cafes and coffee houses give it a continental air. Cobbled lanes climb to the top of the village, where paths take you up the mountain. From there, look down to the beaches and tidal pools and with luck, see a whale waving its tail.

This is an apartment to fall in love with, to dream of when far-away, and to return to year after year.

Whalehaven, an 86 square metre apartment on the second floor of an Edwardian building not 20 metres from the waves, has just been completely renovated with style and an eye for detail. It has oak floors in the living room and marble tiles in the bathroom. The kitchen is designed for real cooking, with granite work-tops and every appliance you require. The sitting and dining-room furniture is tranquil country-chic with a corner cupboard housing the TV.

An Italian fire stove keeps you warm in winter and wi-fi allows you to stay in touch
with family and friends. Beds are made up with down pillows and duvets with
embroidered, Indian-cotton bed-linen. A back verandah looks up to the mountain and is
equipped with French garden furniture and a gas barbecue for relaxed outdoor dining.

2 bedrooms opening onto a back verandah overlooking the mountain (one queen-sized bed, one with twin beds)
1 bathroom with a shower and bath, under-floor heating

Well-equipped kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine)
