This stunning Villa, can best be described as an elegant fusion of an Italian villa and a forerunner to the idea of an African Art hotel. The design of the generous interior spaces juxtaposes the striking colours and geometric shapes of Zulu, Xhosa and Ndebele beadwork (both modern and antique) surrounded by fine collectible pieces of antique African Art, set against opulent marble surfaces, large expanses of glass, formal wood panelling and vibrant oil paintings portraying the life and times of District Six.
The Villa consists of 5 executive bedrooms, three of which are sea facing. Avoiding the décor cliché of a marine theme, the rooms are instead brightened by the fabrics, colours and textures of African craft elevated to charming and enduring works of art.
On this level you will find an entertainment area leading to a secluded inner courtyard and splash pool with built in braai/barbeque area. An open plan fully equipped kitchen looks onto a large comfortable lounge and family dining area. A large bay window, at the foot of which, hosts the formal dining and meeting area, which comfortably accommodates 12 people. An intimate separate discussion room and a private outdoor dining area complete the beach level area.
Retreat up the wood-panelled staircase to your choice of bedroom suite. There are five luxury suites, three of which are sea-facing. One of the other two non sea-facing suites has its own large balcony. Even though this balcony offers sea-views, it is comfortably secluded. The larger of the three sea-facing suites has a built-in Jacuzzi offering a privileged and relaxing vantage point from which to take in the sweeping vistas across Table Bay. This suite also offers access to a fully sound-proof smaller inter-leading suite, ideal for a young child accompanying their parents.
All five suites are unique in design. Meticulous attention to detail has been given to each suite, all of which are enhanced by fine pieces of African art. Each suite is equipped with its own plasma screen, DSTV television. Alternatively, enjoy the full screen 15 seat cinema and DVD projector, plus other equipment to facilitate on screen presentations.
