With the Kleinrivier running through it, mountain views, and just 30 minutes from the sea-side town of Hermanus, Stanford is ideally positioned for couples and families looking for a laid-back getaway in a quaint and historic village.

Walks, horse rides, cycling routes and boat trips on the Klein Rivier are a few of the activities in and around the village. Excellent bird watching is an added bonus and Stanford hosts an annual Bird Fair for enthusiasts.

Foodies, you can choose from Mariana’s, Springfontein, Havercrofts, The Tasting Room and Madre’s amongst others to enjoy.

The Historical Market Square is one of the few remaining in South Africa. Used for school sports, horse shows and country markets where the locals shop for preserves, organic veggies, local cheeses and freshly baked artisan breads. Purchase your fresh ingredients for lunch and spend a relaxing afternoon sipping on local wines whilst admiring the views.

The pristine beaches, wonderful whale watching as well as a superb golf course are fifteen minutes drive away in Hermanus as is the world famous shark cage diving in Gansbaai.

Birkenhead brewery and the award-winning Klein river cheese factory are worth a visit as are many of the local vineyards which are carving an excellent reputation for Overberg region wines.

The rate is R2000 per night for the house sleeping 8
(A minimum booking of two nights is required).

R 2500 per night from the 11th December – 11th January
(A minimum of 5 nights is required for this period).

A 50% deposit is payable to secure the booking and the balance is due 2 days before arrival.
