Modern Guest House on the Garden Route – George
Nelleke and Michael Elston, have recently taken ownership of this long-established guest house situated in the beautiful Caledon Street, centrally located in George. They have introduced a revitalising contemporary influence, without compromising the home’s historic character.
Bedrooms are all en-suite, have flat- screen televisions, DSTV, good quality mattresses and white percale linen. Coffee/tea making facilities and bar fridges are available in all the rooms. With eight rooms there is something to suit everyone’s needs. Three luxury rooms are situated in the historic house and the other rooms have private entrances from a courtyard or situated in the annex behind the historic building. Two studio self-catering units are equipped with induction stove, fridge and small kitchenette perfect for longer stays.
Guests are within walking distance to many good restaurants and coffee shops in the centre of town, the George Botanical Gardens, as well as the George Museum. The guest house also offers free WIFI, a large outdoor swimming pool and secure, off-street parking.
Whispering Oaks is a short 8km drive to Victoria Bay beach and within 10km to various golf courses, including the well-known George Golf Course and Fancourt golf courses.
George makes a perfect base from which to explore the many attractions within a 60km radius- Oudshoorn Kango Caves inland and in a eastern direction Knysna and 60km west, Mossel Bay.

- Cancellation Policy
- A 50% deposit will confirm your reservation (reservations without a deposit are not guaranteed) Payment can be made per credit card and for EFT we will supply our banking details on request. Depending on the ability to re-book the room(s) we will always try to be sympathetic when it comes to refunds as we do understand that plans can change. Cancellation less than 24 hours before the check-in time of the day of the booking - full payment is due. Cancellation 7 days prior to a booking forfeits the full deposit. Cancellation 7 to 21 days prior forfeit 50% of the deposit. Cancellations 22 days or more prior to arrival forfeit 25% of the deposit.

Check-in from 15h00 to 18h00 (earlier by prior arrangement) All reservations will be held till 19:00 after which they will be released, unless notification of late check in is received. Check-out 10h00 Deposit required within 48 hours of booking to guarantee the reservation. Booking Policy- 50% deposit to secure booking. We have bar fridges, microwaves and kettels allowing for guests to bring snacks for babies etc. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions. Breakfast is served from 07:00AM to 9:30AM, please arrange if you have an early departure. No visitors after 18:00PM. No smoking in rooms. Children are welcome. We will gladly assist you with bookings for Golf at local clubs, local tours, restaurants, plus onward travel arrangements. SELF-CATERING: Breakfast not included unless booked.
